Truth, Love & Humanity are NOT "Western Values": From Israel, Epstein Files and Human Rights Watch to Elite Euro-Americans
It is rich for the White Men (& Women) who cry "our shared 'Judaeo-Christian Civilization," in their savage wars for land and loot while lying their way to wealth & power.
“I DON’T care about fairness or justice,” shouted Ami Ayalon, the then Chair of the Board of Trustees of Haifa University. His angry outburst was directed at me for asking him (and Israel) to consider “Palestinians’ right of return” as a step towards peace in the Un-Holly Land.
The year was 2010.
We were at a private fundraiser for yet another center for Palestine Studies (by an Israeli academic-security complex) at this very posh hotel right on Duke of Wellington Square at Knightsbridge, co-hosted by my former friend, Bob Amsterdam, the well-known personal lawyer for the deposed Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatara, exiled in Dubai.
The exchange was inside this ornate private dining room, and I was seated diagonally at the long beautiful dinner table, to the Guest of Honour who had just finished giving his brief update on the state of affairs in Israel, particularly about what Netanayu’s re-election, if he was re-elected, meant for the future of Israel. On my left was a CEO of Rio Tinto who was telling me about one British Ambassador who joined his company as Vice President for Government Affairs.
Alas, I could well-imagine the revolving door among the world of rich Zionists, Her Majesty’s diplomats, the Ivory Tower and Israeli killers.
To belabour the obvious, I am not in this league of power-money-state nexus.
Until that moment, I never had any interaction with any Israelis except a few Israeli backpackers in their 20’s who, in the mid-1980’s, came to Burma or Myanmar, for pleasure after their mandatory IDF (or Israeli Occupation Force) assignments in the Occupied Palestine. I was in my early 20’s, I was, after college, working as a tour guide and a managerial staff for Tourist Burma, the sole tourist agency run by the Ministry of Commerce during the isolationist, pseudo-socialist years of General Ne Win. They distiniguished themselves as really rude and obnoxious.
On one occasion, they were so rude that I intentionally breached our guiding ethos - “Customer is always right” - which I learned during my training as a guide. And I ended up telling one Israeli tourist, “Fuck off! Don’t ever come back to my country!”
And my close encounter with the retired Admiral Ayalon was just as stomach-turning and completely accidental. He is considered “a smarter/saner one”, as my Palestinian friend in Ramallah put it when I was with him in the Occupied Palestine.
Ayalon was the Director of Shinbet or Shabad, the internal security agency that reports only to the Prime Minister. He was rewarded for his chief jailor services in Gaza: Shinbat has run Gaza as “an open air prison”, as former Shinbet chief openly admitted in his interview with Mehdi Hasan, then with MSNBC amidst what Norman Finklestein calls “the Gaza Holocaust.”

A high powered British Jewish lawyer, Amsterdam held court at “the billionaire’s hotel” - quite a few in Knightsbridge, within a short walk from Harrods and the Buckingham Palace. Thaksin’s lawyer discovered me, a radical Burmese exile, as a potential useful idiot for his exiled billionaire Thai client in the typical political wilderness of exiles. At our first meeting over cofee there, he told me, “the boss wanted to meet you. Can you go to Dubai?” Thai police-man-turn-billionaire-politician was best known for lack of any principles or integrity as we know it. But he was pragmatic enough to see the use value of Burmese dissidents in exile for his campaign to restore himself in power in his native Bangkok.
At the time, my wife Natalie and I had just our baby girl. Because of a complication after the labour, the freshly minted mother was bed-ridden. And I wasn’t prepared to leave my month-old baby and the wife who needed me at home, with a babysitter to go meet a fugitive billionaire, however the mouthwatering the proposal was. So, I declined.
Amsterdam who told me, “hire a baby sitter”, and when I said, “No”. And he called me, “you are an idiot!”
We kept in touch, however. And he invited me to a private dinner. So, I went, without having a clue as to what it was about or who was going to be there. My raising an unwelcome question about the Palestinians legal right of return - under international law - ended my buddhing friendship with one particular lawyer for Israel.
So, when a Rohingya brother what’sapped me the “shocking news” that the Human Rights Watch blocked its own well-researched report on why Israel’s foundational refusal to honour the Palestinians’ right of return can be argued as “a crime against humanity”, my old memories at the Lonon fundraiser for Haifa University resurfaced.
A decorated old Israeli soldier going hysterical upon hearing the phrase “Palestinians’ right of return” is one thing. But the richest liberal human rights watchdog brazenly suppressing certain type of legal argument and truth is a different level of un-principledness altogether.
These are not isolated cases. But rather they form historical and contemporaneous patterns of Truth-suppression and Truth-distortion in the governing bodies and ruling circles, whatever their ideological orientation. The very first public lecture I ever attended as a young foreign student at the University of California at Davis was some thirty-odd years ago. Before the auditorium-full audience of students and faculty, the Pentagon correspondent with NBC explained why he resigned as a TV journalist for a major US news network: his bosses instructed him to air the pro-war propaganda script verbatim coming out of the Geoge Bush Sr. Administration.
Nothing has changed since.
It dawns on me that Truths, Love and Humanity are not part of the ruling Western elite circles and institutions, or shall we say, “Judeo-Christian Civilzation”.
Not that other states and other civilizations don’t lie and decieve its subject populations. But as younsters, we developed the essential capacity to doubt and question truth-claims promoted by the Power-Lie Nexus while overwhelming segments of the “educated” westerners are easily swayed by brazen lies and deceptions by their governing institutions.
I will leave you with several well-documented cases of such lies and deceptions synchronized across the vast media ecosystems, run by the Nazis to Zionists to liberals and conservatives.

Your encounter with Ayalon crystalizes everything - "I don't care about fairness or justice" from someone in power is the quiet part said out loud. HRW blocking its own report on right of return fits the same pattern as the NBC correspondent you mention resigning over Pentagon scripts. The instituional capture is complete when even "watchdogs" self-censor. What strikes me is how these power circles all know each other - the Rio Tinto CEO, the diplomats, the Israeli officials at that Knightsbridge dinner. Its not conspiracy, just class solidarity protecting itself across borders. The Goebbels quotes about repetition making lies truth still applies today, just with better PR firms.
Thank you Ko Z. Yes "anti-bolshevism" is actually injected into our "selves" by the cultural toxicity. Really the forty beheaded baby proganda incitement lie, matched only in scale by the mass rape propaganda incitement lie, each made by Israel, are only outstripped by the lie of concealment of Israel's use of the Hannibal directive to kill their own citizens and falsely blame Hamas. But this has taught me to doubt even books.
